How to Create Your Own Wicca Spell Altar

If you are interested in learning how to create your own Wicca spell altar, the first step is for you to clean your altar room thoroughly. It is recommended that when cleaning the room you use water mixed with sea salt. If you cannot find sea salt, then you can use any cleaning supply.
The next step is for you to scrub down the ceiling, floor and walls of the altar. You must ensure that the room is conveniently organized, and be sure to pick up all mess and clutter, as this will make it easier to control all the energy that collects.

You then need to determine where East, West, North and South are. You can do this task by using a compass, or you can easily just ask someone who may know. The reason why you are determining this, is because your altar must be set up facing the north, because the Earth is directed facing the North and would enable you to collect the most energy from this direction.

The next step is for you to mark and position your circle. To do this, it is best that you use a cord preferably white, or any small sacred objects (figurines or candles etc). If you have sufficient room, you can draw your circle between 5-9 ft diameters.

It is also important that you mark your circle starting from the East and slowly move it clockwise, finishing again in the East. You must think of this circle as a permanent marked circle that you will redraw for each time you intend on doing a spell or ritual work.

After completing your circle, it is then time for you to decorate your altar or temple (that is the area around the circle). And you can do this by hanging meaningful pictures or posters, and fabric. You can also position candles around the altar room to give it that mystical appearance and feeling. Your decoration can range from elaborate to simple, whatever choice evokes strong feelings for you.

It is then necessary for you to complete an overall purification and intense cleaning of your altar space. Thus, you must prepare the purified water for your ritual. You must also ensure that you ‘charge’ the cleansing water with pure and positive energy. After which you will then use this water to purify your altar space. You must ensure that the purification process is done carefully and precisely, else your altar will be tainted and obscured- and your space will not ‘feel’ right which in turn can jeopardize your rituals and spells.

These are just a few steps you should follow when learning how to create your own Wicca spell altar. There are many other altar set ups you can follow, in addition to objects you can add. Nevertheless, these steps that I have mentioned above must be a reflection of how your Wicca spell altar should be created. Once you have completed these steps…you will have very own Wicca spell altar for your convenience.
